Spring Time

Do you recall the resolutions you made a few months ago? How did you do keeping them? Many of us follow the same ritual each year… gorging ourselves through the holidays, spending a fortune on stuff then celebrating the end of a long year. We wake up stuffed, hung over and broke. We resolved to make big changes after living and doing everything to the contrary… These changes don’t happen overnight. Truth is approximately 80% of us don’t keep those resolutions.

Many of our resolutions were focused on negatives – my belly is too big; my bank account is too low…etc. If you want to make a real change, first, change your focus. Start imagining the positive things you want to accomplish. For example- pull out that dress or that pair of jeans in the back of the closet/drawer… you know the ones. Put them in front of you. Post a picture on your fridge of that new kitchen you’ve been dreaming of… Now, do what it takes to make it happen.

Change takes time and discipline. Use spring time as a time of renewal. Refresh yourself. Refresh your focus. Spring into action.

Balance

Among the many definitions of balance, I found that is a “state of equilibrium or equipoise”. It is true in all aspects of our lives that we must strive to find balance. Many things pull at us daily – work, home, families, and even ourselves. Take a moment, close your eyes, breathe, relax, and release. What is most important to you? Focus on that area of your life and do not allow distractions to pull you away. The other areas can fill in as necessary. Find your Balance – get to a state of equilibrium and find peace.
